Label Manager

Music is in our DNA. Over fifty years, Bertus Groothandel en Distributie has grown into one of the leading physical distributors in Europe, with a strong portfolio of exclusive labels and a team that genuinely cares about what it distributes. Since 2022, we've been part of Artone, a fully integrated music company where production, distribution, retail and direct fan sales flow seamlessly together.

The Artone Label Group includes names such as Music on Vinyl, Music on CD, Vinyl Passion, Mascot Label Group, Proper Music Group, V2 Records and Artone Signature. Bertus handles sales and distribution for all of these labels. And that's who we're now looking for a Label Manager for: someone who becomes the face of these labels within Bertus, and the extension of Bertus towards the labels.

Are you at home in the music world, do you know how the market works, and do you get energy from putting releases in the market in the best possible way? Then this is your role.

Profile

Who you are

• You have at least a bachelor's (HBO) working and thinking level

• You communicate strongly, both verbally and in writing, in Dutch and English

• You're accurate, proactive and organised, but never lose your head in the chaos of a busy release week

• You have an eye for detail and structure, and understand what's happening in the market

• Experience in the music or entertainment industry is a plus

• You don't have a 9-to-5 mentality and know how to handle deadlines

Activities

What you'll be doing

• You get involved early in the release process: you help think through expected sales figures and retail marketing, and regularly present a marketing plan to the label

• You build retail marketing plans for priority releases: think posters, goodies, in-store activities and listening sessions

• You gather sales targets for physical products and monitor progress

• You represent the labels internally at Bertus and present new releases to the organisation

• You propose promo packages, substantiate them and coordinate with the sales teams

• You make sure releases are well represented in both key and indie stores, and check availability in webshops

• You manage stock, place orders with the labels and check retail assets

• You attend concerts, festivals and retail events when needed

• You maintain a strong relationship with the labels and report results back
